Today I did a 2.5k steady and then weights circuit for me legs (physio instructions to try and sort out my knees) then 3k at 2:15 nothing too grand I know but I tried to work on the technique which I feel has become a bit scrappy and a wee coll down for afters. Good day.
Hi Gavin what is the problem with your knees. My left one right in the front is giving me some problems at the moment and my usual practice of just ignoring it and hoping it will go away does not seem to be working.
It was becoming evident that I was not relaxing in my stroke and potentially it was causing my HR to soar Sad so the plan was to go back to a pace I was comfortable with and start over again working the pace down.
Tonight then was 10k s10mps, 2k splits starting at 2:00 pace then dropping 1sec/500 each 2k so 1:59, 1:58 and so on. I would also monitor HR to see if it went above 146 (which is 80% HRR)
Total time 39:24.0 – Total in zone 39:24.0 = ok / aHR 133
Next time I will go from 2:00 down to 1:58 for the second split so the last one will 1sec/500 faster for the last 2k. I will keep dropping the splits each session till my time out of zone exceeds 10% of the total.
Ok all that shit I wrote last night – forget it, its just to boring and I will never stick with it. Was up a big chunk of the night with a sick daughter and so getting to the gym was the first challenge, then decided just to do 10k at 2:00 s10mps …. 5k bored to death and stopped.
Time to play and wipe the cobwebs clear: 500m intervals / 1 min rest / s10mps / df105
this is an experiment today I rowed 2000 in 6:10 Aye a wish!!!!!
this is also an experiment I am now very ill and in hospital after that super gavin feat.

Gavin
Gavin – this appraisal a bit premature on October 25th even for Nostrafergus?!
Oops – I’m a year out – I guess this thread is not a useful place to post; will put any training questions/comments into the Clubhouse chatroom.
